In “The Automated Sniper“, Julian Hetzel examines the gamification of violence: Two performers on stage are under fire by an operator of a remote-controlled weapon. The shooter, situated in a protected location, aims at the stage using a joystick. The virtual brutality at the same time suddenly becomes very immediate. How far would we go? “The Automated Sniper“ is a commentary on modern warfare – a modern dance, free art, critical pamphlet and tricky game at once.
The performance is followed by an artist talk.
