The painter Klee is working with his brush and easel, while he’s searching for the truth. Struggling to pay the next rent, haunted by doubts und beaten up by faith, he continues painting until death takes him away. An artist’s life during the years of the modern world, presented with a handful of puppets – a Punch-and-Judy show, just like Klee would have drawn and loved it.
