Stage director Simon Meusburger and puppeteer Nikolaus Habjan tell the true story of Friedrich Zawrel, who was imprisoned in a fascist medical unit for children. Euthanasia physician Dr. Gross classified young Zawrel as “genetically and socially inferior”, but the child survived his torture and torments. Bad luck has it that years later tormentor and victim meet again … A powerful and moving representation of contemporary history, based on Friedrich Zawrel’s personal stories and his question of ‘why’.
