Szenenstudien II
Students from the Puppet Theatre degree programme – under the direction of their main subject professors Florian Feisel, Julika Mayer and Stephanie Rinke – present scenes from their 2nd and 3rd year of study. There will be excerpts from the studio production, small hand puppet miniatures and folding mouths that were built in class with Mechtild Nienaber and are now developing a remarkable life of their own …
Afterwards, there will be a discussion between theatre makers, students and teachers to promote creative exchange and provide inspiration for current and future projects.
The puppet theatre course at the Stuttgart University of Music and Performing Arts is moving its classes to Erlangen for the duration of the 24th international figuren.theatre.festival and will be represented at the festival with all of its students. Spontaneous actions and encounters are pre-programmed. First-year students will present manifestos for contemporary puppet theatre on Saturday, 31 May before the performance in the Markgrafentheater. Various individual and cross-year works will be shown at selected venues and sometimes late at night. Further information can be found on flyers distributed at short notice and on the festival website.
