Théâtre Gudule (DE/FR)
La Frittata
“Which came first? The chicken or the egg?” Inspired by this famous question, Théâtre Gudule goes on an exploratory tour of the city. Their play takes shape on a street, in a hall, or in a park, and is nourished by their encounters with the bystanders who have the good fortune (or bad luck) to get in their way. They explore and inspect, peck and scratch, wonder about their discoveries, and emit a little melodic chuckle along the way. They subtly point out the absurdity of our constructions and our frantic coming and going. They invite us to pause for a moment and revel in their colours, vitality, and sense of wry humour. Caught in their own little vicious cycle of life, they too don’t know where they are going, where they came from, or who got there first.
“La Frittata” is Marta Pelamatti’s final project in the Figurentheater programme at the Stuttgart University of Music and Performing Arts. Together with fellow student Mehdi Pinget, she founded Théâtre Gudule to combine traditional puppetry with music, visual arts and vaudeville.
