Sind wir Freunde?
A play with small things about a big wish
What belongs together? What is uncommon? Who is special? Who is distinct? And does it always have to stay that way?
To playfully create a whole world, Tristan Vogt only needs his explorer box holding six mysterious objects that do not yet have a name, three well-known things that have already made names for themselves and five pieces of music to dance, dream and conjure with. Virtuously he breathes life into his small ensemble and, almost incidentally, tells of otherness, individuality and togetherness, of openness, curiosity and the fascination of everyday things.
“What is always enchanting about Tristan Vogt’s works is not only the friendliness towards his objects and the audience, but even more his ability to animate these dead objects in such a way that one empathically feels with them, perceives them as living things. (…) Incidentally, ‘Sind wir Freunde?” is not only suitable for kindergarten children but also for adults who have not yet lost their desire for the magic of play (or who are trying to regain it).” (Manfred Jahnke, Die deutsche Bühne)
