When Swiss artist Simon Senn bought a file with very unusual contents for 12 dollars on the Internet, an extraordinary journey began. He had acquired a data set with a realistic 3D image of a naked female body. Using sensors and 3D glasses, he slips into the young woman’s body. A very moving experience. What can he do with his new digital body? How does he deal with this new sensuality offered by the virtual form? And who is this woman who “sold” her body? He eventually sets out to find her …
In his lecture performance “Be Arielle F” videographer and visual artist Simon Senn demonstrates by using the unexpected connection between technology, representation, gender and law that the virtual and the real world do not always have to be in opposition to one another.
